Special Connexion 2

The Special Connexion was established in the fall of 2003 by the parents of the campers and by the board of directors of the Advocates for Special People, Inc. to provide educationally and physically challenging activities for the mentally and physically challenged.

Within a short few years, Special Connexion 2 was formed and resides at St. Stephens United Methodist Church with approximately 25 day campers.

ADVOCATES FOR SPECIAL PEOPLE CLOSES SPECIAL CONNEXIONS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

All Activities CANCELLED at all four locations because of COVID-19

ARLINGTON, TEXAS, March 25, 2020 – In an attempt to slow the spread of COVID-19, Advocates for Special People followed Arlington ISD in closing, initially until March 30, 2020. AISD extended that date through April 3, though expected to extend. Dallas and Fort Worth ISD's have "closed until further notice."

We have since received guidance from Texas Health and Human Services who have closed all dayhabs in the state. HHS and the ISD's may not be on the same timeline establishing normalcy again.

As further information becomes available, we will let you know.

Stay safe and healthy,
