Arlington Eagles

Advocates for Special People, Inc. trains and supports special athletes in our athletics program called The Arlington Eagles. We have approximately 75 athletes who are trained by our 20+ volunteer coaches. Our athletes are trained in bowling, volleyball, basketball, top golf, bocce, softball, as well as athletics (track and field). They compete in Special Olympic competitions at the area and state levels and have won many medals. We support them by furnishing their uniforms, paying their expenses for travel, lodging and food, and most importantly, we are on the sidelines cheering for our teams and individuals.

The Arlington Eagles Special Olympics volleyball team has been selected to represent Team Texas as the only volleyball team from Texas to compete at the Special Olympics USA Games 2026 in Minneapolis, Minnesota this June. Representing their community with pride, the team includes ten dedicated athletes and three committed coaches who have worked tirelessly both on and off the court. This incredible achievement highlights the athletes’ teamwork, determination, and passion for the game while showcasing the life-changing impact of inclusive sports opportunities.
